Challenge #5 (a little early)

Ok...I know everyone except Diana is working on Valentine's Day things so here is my challenge.

1. Create something for Valentine's Day. It could be a card, something altered, a layout, anything...For those of you that must create valentine's for the kiddies, post a pic of just one of the ideas you have come up with.
2. There must be at least 1 cricut cut included.
3. Due date: Since Natasha's (Challenge #4) is due January 31st, that makes this one February 7th.

I'm hoping this challenge will give everyone a deadline that puts them ahead of schedule for getting their valentine's done.

Good luck and happy scrapping!! Added 1/28/10 - ladies please send everyone one of your little creations to everyone in the group. I don't want to see something special for adults either, I want to see the kid version of the valentine!! That's just 4 extra of what you were making!! Is that ok with everyone? I've included Mistie in this one....so Mistie, your little darling needs to hand out valentine's this year!

Diana: You can do Challenge #6 - you up for that?

Challenge # 4

Posted by PicasaThis was fun!  Pearls are on the flowers.  I added
a few more. I use glue to hold the glitter on the black.
The hearts I have been saving for just this page!
The "admire" brad was my color scheme.
Thanks Natasha

Freezer paper T-shirt

Just wanted to share. Made this for a friend's 5 year old son. Of course now my dd wants one. :) I was happy with the way it came out. The c bled a little but otherwise I think it is ok. Sorry it is sideways. It is from Dinosaur tracks.

Challenge 3 - Diana

Hi Ladies. Sorry I have been away this week. I have been working a lot of OT and when I come home kids want me. I challenged myself this week to use my around the page punch that I had and have not used yet. No cricut cuts, maybe I will challenge myself on that next week. I wanted a 8 1/2 x by 11 size in the brown so the spots where the punch did not line up were perfect to put the buttons on with the thread. I used the paper from Wendy as my base and added the brown and turquoise. I only used a few of the words and attached them to the pictures. I did not think Kenzie was romantic yet though, so I did not use that word! :)

Challenge #4 Completed!!

I must say that I just loved this challenge, items. I had the flowers here so I could add some extras. This one has bazzill cardstock as the background paper and the plum color, My Mind's Eye for the stripes, polka dot and the photo mat, American Cardstock for the swirls that were cut using Home Accents (aren't we proud, I used a cartridge!!). The butterfiles were cut using SCAL.

Challenge #3 Complete

I scream, U scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM. It took ALL week, but I finally used all the pieces. The polka dot paper is at the top. I used a border punch for the edge. The thread holds my sign on the second page. The rhinestones are on both pages and the ribbon I used only the word sweet and it's on the I in ICE CREAM. This layout is stickled to the hilt....I also used Glossy Accents on all the brown, the chocolate on the ice cream and the letters in "we all" on the sign. They resemble thickers... The hot pink background paper is American Crafts, the sherbert colored photo mats are bazzill, the words are cut from AC textured cardstock. The sundaes (complete with the cherries) are cut using SCAL using a pattern from myscrapchick.com.

I did struggle with some of the pieces. I did not try to do anything with any of the pieces until the Sunday when I posted the challenge. I did manage to accept Mistie's challenge and use pictures this time.....I also journaled which is unheard of from me!!

Grandmother's Flower Garden.. Challenge #3

Challenge #3 was a stretch for me. Wendy sent an envelope with two sheets of polka dot paper, ribbon, a skein of "cross stitch" thread and Rinestones in green and gold. The ribbon had 4 words on it... youthful, sassy, sweet and romantic. The ribbon was white with pink and brown letters... Very interesting... :)

Grandmother's Flower Garden and the grass is Plantin Schoolbook. I used a glitter pen to "lighly cover" the letters. Outlined the letters with a black Creative Memories pen. I knew I was going to do spring flowers... I'm ready for Spring and those are the next pictures I am going to scrap.. if I can get them printed! :( I punched a sheet of "dots" to make my flowers. Used Wild Card for the green stems and altered them. I tried to use the dot paper to matt the pictures. I didn't like the look... I used paper I had on hand. Some of it is Creative Memories. I stamped a couple of the matts with Inkadinkado stamp and Stamps by Judith amethyst ink. (Thanks you Sue D for teaching me how) I use Microsoft Word for my journaling... Here is where I get "creative"... I use the ribbon to "write out" four of the words in my journal spot. I am not satisfied with that but I have learned to just "stop" and do no more... lol... I added three "gems" on the Flower Garden page, top left. I "hand stitched" the mat with the "pine cones" ... I can't remember the name of the stitch but I did remember how to do it after 5 starts on 5 different papers! lol... I can honestly say I do not think I have ever hand sewn paper... Thanks Wendy it was fun!

Pictures, they seem to be a bit fuzzy?  Need to check for "tiny" fingerprints maybe  :0!

I found a new product to use and I LOVE it!!

After watching several Tim Holtz videos on YouTube, one of the things he used consistantly was Glossy Accents. He used it like a glue in the one video I watched for making roses. Well I went and got some using a 40% off coupon at M's.

I must say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It isn't really a glue but it sure works like one and works right now. Those tiny little places where you just need a touch of clear glue that really holds, this is the stuff. The layout I'm working on, I used it on the chocolate syrup and I think it looks great. I can also see this used for accents on flowers and other embellishments. I could also see using this for getting glitter on things too.

Just thought I would share with you guys! Anyone else have something they have tried and just love?

Challenge #3

Ok, so it looks like I might be the first one done for once, lol. This is my double layout of my DD's third birthday, the pics I had are not great but you gotta work with what ya got right?? Anyway, title is "My princess turns 3", the words are thickers and the three is cut from A Child's Year. I used my ribbon behind the words. My thread is attached to the balloon cut from A Child's year and connects and wrapps around the picture. On the second page the cuts are from Hello Kitty. Oh yeah and i pop dotted the 3 to stand up. Thanks for looking =] can't wait to see what everyone else made with their goodies. Challenge 4 packages should go out tomorrow hopefully.

Challenge #2... almost

Hello Ladies! Well this is as far as I got on the challenge, but this was a HUGE step for me because I actually got my scrapbooking stuff out for the first time in over 7 months and I made a space to scrapbook :) I also came to the realization that I do not have any adhesive! With that said, I respectfully ask for an extension...

Challenge #2

I thought I was going to have to do this after kids went to bed. Working on a new laptop and was not sure how everything was going to work. But I was able to figure everything out and it went much easier than I thought it would.

I used all SU paper except the pattern paper is from a pack from Quick Quotes, stars are Plantin Schoolbook, inked and embossed with swiss dots, Font is Cuttin Up. Now we have a picture of me. Not in my best moment, but it is a picture. :) I still have to get one for the site.

Everyone is welcome to do the weekly challenges!

Please do invite your friends to join us in the weekly challenges. If we can put a 2nd group together, they can do the swaps as well. I still want to keep our group small but we can always do a second group too.
