1. Create something for Valentine's Day. It could be a card, something altered, a layout, anything...For those of you that must create valentine's for the kiddies, post a pic of just one of the ideas you have come up with.
2. There must be at least 1 cricut cut included.
3. Due date: Since Natasha's (Challenge #4) is due January 31st, that makes this one February 7th.
I'm hoping this challenge will give everyone a deadline that puts them ahead of schedule for getting their valentine's done.
Good luck and happy scrapping!! Added 1/28/10 - ladies please send everyone one of your little creations to everyone in the group. I don't want to see something special for adults either, I want to see the kid version of the valentine!! That's just 4 extra of what you were making!! Is that ok with everyone? I've included Mistie in this one....so Mistie, your little darling needs to hand out valentine's this year!
Diana: You can do Challenge #6 - you up for that?

I scream, U scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM. It took ALL week, but I finally used all the pieces. The polka dot paper is at the top. I used a border punch for the edge. The thread holds my sign on the second page. The rhinestones are on both pages and the ribbon I used only the word sweet and it's on the I in ICE CREAM. This layout is stickled to the hilt....I also used Glossy Accents on all the brown, the chocolate on the ice cream and the letters in "we all" on the sign. They resemble thickers... The hot pink background paper is American Crafts, the sherbert colored photo mats are bazzill, the words are cut from AC textured cardstock. The sundaes (complete with the cherries) are cut using SCAL using a pattern from myscrapchick.com.
I did struggle with some of the pieces. I did not try to do anything with any of the pieces until the Sunday when I posted the challenge. I did manage to accept Mistie's challenge and use pictures this time.....I also journaled which is unheard of from me!!

Grandmother's Flower Garden and the grass is Plantin Schoolbook. I used a glitter pen to "lighly cover" the letters. Outlined the letters with a black Creative Memories pen. I knew I was going to do spring flowers... I'm ready for Spring and those are the next pictures I am going to scrap.. if I can get them printed! :( I punched a sheet of "dots" to make my flowers. Used Wild Card for the green stems and altered them. I tried to use the dot paper to matt the pictures. I didn't like the look... I used paper I had on hand. Some of it is Creative Memories. I stamped a couple of the matts with Inkadinkado stamp and Stamps by Judith amethyst ink. (Thanks you Sue D for teaching me how) I use Microsoft Word for my journaling... Here is where I get "creative"... I use the ribbon to "write out" four of the words in my journal spot. I am not satisfied with that but I have learned to just "stop" and do no more... lol... I added three "gems" on the Flower Garden page, top left. I "hand stitched" the mat with the "pine cones" ... I can't remember the name of the stitch but I did remember how to do it after 5 starts on 5 different papers! lol... I can honestly say I do not think I have ever hand sewn paper... Thanks Wendy it was fun!
Pictures, they seem to be a bit fuzzy? Need to check for "tiny" fingerprints maybe :0!
1. You do not have to use all of what I sent but part of each.
2. Follow the color theme in your package.
3. Have FUN!!! --- that's it, wish I were more creative but I guess easier is better right??
Can't wait to see what you girls make. I may be sitting the week out due to homework, uggg, blaaah etc... we'll see if I get any scrappy time this week, I also need to help my children start their valentines... so much to do so little time. I need lots of prayers for school girls it's already doing me in after 2 weeks :(
I have an idea already for your cute little package!! Hey Wendy, can I just skip on over to next week??? lololo

I must say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It isn't really a glue but it sure works like one and works right now. Those tiny little places where you just need a touch of clear glue that really holds, this is the stuff. The layout I'm working on, I used it on the chocolate syrup and I think it looks great. I can also see this used for accents on flowers and other embellishments. I could also see using this for getting glitter on things too.
Just thought I would share with you guys! Anyone else have something they have tried and just love?

Hello Ladies! Well this is as far as I got on the challenge, but this was a HUGE step for me because I actually got my scrapbooking stuff out for the first time in over 7 months and I made a space to scrapbook :) I also came to the realization that I do not have any adhesive! With that said, I respectfully ask for an extension...

2. You can add anything you want to the items in the envelope to make your layout complete
3. Deadline is the following weekend!
HAVE FUN!! Next month someone else can pick the items that must be used.

So maybe my Christmas stuff isn't down and maybe my kitchen still has dirty dishes in it...but I finished it!
I scrap these for my sister and then she adds the pics. There really isn't alot of cricut involved in this one other than the words that are cut. And the lion is using SCAL. This one was done BEFORE I figured out that there were patterns out there that could be used. I figured this one out by myself.
I used the picture for the color choices I made. I also used the stars.
Using the picture as inspiration, create a layout. I had a bit of help on this one since it is my nephew Griffin's toy and he's in CT.
Everyone, look for a package from me this week BUT you may not open it until Sunday. It will be challenge #3.
Here is the layout I scraplifted. From monkeydoodle cricut, Monique Griffith. I could not (and still have not) decided which pictures I wanted to put on the page, but I knew which layout I wanted to scraplift. Finally figured out as I was getting ready for my crop I wanted to use Dinosaur Tracks because I had not used it yet. Started doing the layout and realized there were just too many layers to the dinos and I was talking WAY to much to do them all. So I decided to do the fossils. Now when I cut them out on my gypsy, they did not line up very well. But since this is only for me, it did not bug me too much! ;) I thought it added to the whole fossil, old feel to it.

Here you go ladies, here's my first done challenge!! As I was going along, I realized that I hadn't used my cricut at all so I added the cute bear in the pumpkin patch. He was cut with SCAL2 (cut SCAL would work and I have the cut file if anyone wants it)....that's a pattern from myscrapchick.com.
This layout is quite heavy since the paper is just piled on it. Each piece of paper is matted and the photo mats are triple matted. I used the brads that I bought in CT while at Tuesday Mornings. The leaves and spikey thing is from M's in the flower section. Most of the paper is from Scrap Pad To Go purchased at Ollie's. It's by K&Company. The big polka dot paper I have no clue where I got it from. I found it in my blue file when I was searching for paper. The solid rust color is by American Crafts and was also purchased at Tuesday Mornings in CT. The bows are done with raffia adn there are bazzill buttons under them.
Almost forgot to post where I scraplifted from. Here's the pic that I used for inspiration and here's the link to the Scrapbarn.
Click here for link to scraplifted page.
If there is anything from this layout you would like made for you, please don't hesitate to ask.
ps....I actually fulfilled my personal challenge, to finish this layout this weekend!!

I got flock on 70% off clearance at M's....yup, needed that too!! How can I challenge you ladies to use flock if I don't have any? Or the Pocket Full of Posies paper stack at J's for $4.50...can't challenge you to use it if I don't have it!! And the thread I bought at J's, can't sew on my layouts if I don't have thread right?? (We won't mention that I do sew and have a full box of thread but these colors were just gorgeous!!)
Yup, you guys are my total excuse on why I needed to go shopping and not clean my scrap room!!
Find your favorite scrapper and SCRAPLIFT one of their layout designs. The theme must be an event from the past year BUT may not be a holiday. You need to use only items you currently have in your stash. Please remember these do not need to be exact but they must include pics.
Your deadline for this challenge is Jan. 9th. You can either post on the thread yourself or email me pics and instructions on how you made your layout. If your favorite scrapper has a blog, please be sure to include a link so we can all thank them!!
Good Luck and I look forward to seeing your designs!

LET’S GET CAUGHT UP!!
Did anyone have a chance to use one of the sketches from the site I posted. I'm almost finished with one and will post a pic this weekend because I'm FORCING myself to do that!!
I think one of the great things about this blog is that if we get stuck....we can ask for help! I think everyone in this group does just amazing work!
Ok.....I'll have an official challenge posted this weekend....everyone ready??
